People are familiar of the\nslave trade many years ago but not many are aware that slavery to this day\nexists and in a much larger scale, whereby over 30 million people are trapped\nin modern-day slavery. Every year thousands more people are exploited by\ncriminals, mainly women and children. Almost every country is either a source, transit\npoint or destination for victims of trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trafficking awareness day\nseeks to end slavery, restore rights of individuals and to make the world a\nsafer place for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As globally we work towards\ndismantling trafficking networks and help survivors rebuild their lives, we\nmust also address the underlying forces that push so many into bondage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must develop economies that\ncreate legitimate jobs, build a global sense of justice that says no person\nshould ever be exploited, and empower the younger generation so they do not\nfall victims to this crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The horrific injustice of\nhuman trafficking, including sex trafficking, child pornography, forced\nmarriages, child brides, child labour, involuntary servitude, and debt bondage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope to Heal Foundation call\non every nation, every community, and every individual to fight human\ntrafficking wherever it exists. Report crimes or suspicious behaviours. Let us\ndeclare as one that slavery has no place in our communities and this world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage everyone, from\ncommunity leaders, business owners and employees, education sector, consumers, tourists,\nand Faith based organisations to educate themselves and the people around them\nand help us raise awareness on Human Trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID-19 has opened a breeding\nground for criminals, leaving the most vulnerable at risk to be exploited by\ncriminals for profit. We have detected a rise trafficking cases since the\nLockdown, whereby refugees in various countries are falling victims of\ntrafficking, Children are exploited into forced labour and young women into sexual\nexploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are calling upon State Leaders to intensify efforts to combat human trafficking.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We must not tolerate the inhumane practice of Human Trafficking. \u00a0Help us restore peoples most basic rights \u201cFreedom, and Dignity\u201d.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Communities play a vital role in combatting trafficking by reporting suspicious behaviours. Let us work together to protect and create safer communities and to end human trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
