South Africa had an extremely high unemployment rate before the pandemic, with millions living in poverty and starvation. The lockdown has resulted in a spike of job losses due to business being affected, leaving thousands more jobless. Restriction of movement during lockdown affected the daily wage people, whereby on normal circumstances, they could find work to feed their family, they could no longer do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The COVID- 19 pandemic has left devastating effect on vulnerable communities in South Africa, leaving thousands of vulnerable people starving. Communities nationally were promised food relief hampers but sadly majority of the vulnerable communities did not receive these government food relief hampers. Those few who did receive government food relief hampers, the groceries in the hampers could only last a few days. thus leaving families in dire need for food relief aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feeding Project In Partnership Pick n Pay Constantia Village , Cape Town<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hope to Heal Foundation started feeding the hungry in Belhar, Western Cape. We started this project in April 2020 because little children and senior citizens were left hungry during level 5 of the lockdown, waiting for Government food relief hampers that never came. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have served over 100 000 meals to the vulnerable community of Belhar, Western Cape.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Management and Team would like to extend a heartful thank you to Hope to Heal Ambassador and Patron, Lynn Hill for all her efforts to secure a Partnership with Pick n Pay Constantia Village. Lynn Hill has not only secured this partnership but take time from her already busy schedule to pick up the groceries from the store for us every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope to Heal Foundation distributed over 2000 food relief hampers, hygiene packs, baby hampers and fresh vegetables in Riverlea, South of Johannesburg. On behalf of Management and team, we would like to thank David Cohen and Joe Greenstein from CheckMark Sandton for your kindness and generosity. You not only raised funds to fund this project but also was hands on in distributing the hampers to the vulnerable families in Riverlea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
